Annual Dinner May 20

The Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development Corporation is holding its Partners in Growth Annual Dinner on Wednesday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at the Grand Isle Lake House.  Keynote speaker this year will be Joe Fusco, advisor to the chairman and CEO of Casella Waste Systems on organizational and leadership development, brand development and strategy, public affairs, business and cultural trends, and corporate communications. He has served as an executive coach to over 200 mid- and senior-level managers and numerous work teams.  Currently he is focused on the next generation of entrepreneurs; Joe developed and teaches a seminar to students in UVM’s Sustainable Entrepreneurship MBA (SEMBA) program.

LCIEDC is proud to announce the following awards: 2015 Business of the Year, Wally’s Place Bagel and Deli, celebrating five years in business, with plans to build a new facility this year.  The 2015 Community Service Award: the Champlain Islands Parent Child Center, for providing excellent care a safe, happy and high-quality environment for the Islands’ children and families.

Sponsors for the “Partners in Growth” dinner are Bauer Gravel Farnham and Preservation Trust of Vermont.  The cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. The event will feature local wines from East Shore Vineyard and Snow Farm and local foods from companies including Maple Brook, Red Hen, Pomykala Farm, Misty Knoll, Nitty Gritty and the Vermont Brownie Company.  “Best of the Islands” raffle prizes will be offered with products and services from local businesses.
